Course purpose
This course moves from knowing individual techniques to applying them as a coherent professional process. Learners plan and conduct a realistic forensic interview, adapt to new information, document the account and convert it into a targeted corroboration plan.
Learning outcomes
On successful completion, the learner should be able to:
1. Build an interview plan that integrates mandate, hypotheses, evidence, safeguards and contingencies.
2. Conduct an adaptive interview using rapport, free account, probing, clarification, exhibits and fair challenge.
3. Respond appropriately to changed status, new evidence, resistance and communication needs.
4. Produce a defensible interview record, evaluation and follow-up action plan.
