Course purpose
This Advanced course develops practical competence in choosing and controlling technology for cross-border investigations. Learners translate legal and evidential requirements into tool specifications; manage secure case platforms and international collaboration; plan cloud, endpoint, mobile, open-source and provider evidence workflows; integrate and analyze heterogeneous data; govern automation and artificial intelligence; validate results; and preserve reproducibility, security, handover and closure records. The course is vendor-neutral and does not authorize system access, covert collection, compulsory process, data transfer or evidential use. It does not provide legal advice or replace qualified digital-forensic specialists. Every tool and technique must be approved for the actual mandate, jurisdiction, data, competence, security and intended use.
Learning outcomes

1. Convert investigative, legal, evidential, security and operational needs into a defensible technology-and-tool plan.
2. Operate secure case-management, collaboration, preservation, acquisition and transfer controls across jurisdictions.
3. Apply reproducible processing, search, analytics, link analysis, visualization and review techniques to heterogeneous evidence.
4. Evaluate automation, translation, transcription and artificial-intelligence tools for accuracy, bias, explainability and data risk.
