Course purpose
This course introduces a controlled technology lifecycle for forensic-accounting work. It connects a neutral engagement question to authorised data acquisition, documented preparation, repeatable analytics, validation and careful reporting. It also develops practical safeguards for spreadsheets, databases, visualisation, automation and artificial intelligence so that technology assists rather than replaces evidence-led professional judgement.
Learning outcomes
By the end of this course, you should be able to:
1. Map a forensic question to suitable systems, data fields and an authorised acquisition plan.
2. Build and validate a repeatable analytical workflow that preserves sources and records transformations.
3. Evaluate and communicate technology outputs, including AI-assisted results, with human review and explicit limitations.
