Course purpose
This course evaluates technologies used before, during and after investigative interviews. It focuses on lawful selection, recording integrity, remote participation, automated transcription, AI-assisted analysis, synthetic-media risk, privacy, human review and defensible governance.
Learning outcomes
On successful completion, the learner should be able to:
1. Assess the suitability, legality and risk of recording, remote and assistive interview technologies.
2. Apply controls for identity, consent or notice, privacy, security, continuity and record integrity.
3. Use automated transcription and AI assistance with documented human verification and bias controls.
4. Evaluate synthetic content, provenance and technology limitations without overstating authenticity or evidential meaning.
