Course purpose
This Advanced course establishes a disciplined foundation for international forensic investigations. Learners map jurisdictions, forums, legal entities, data locations and decision rights; distinguish voluntary organizational steps from compulsory state powers; select lawful cooperation and evidence routes; control cross-border teams, providers, translations and data transfers; integrate financial, documentary, digital and testimonial evidence; and report findings without overstating authority or certainty. The course does not confer investigative powers, authorize search, surveillance, seizure, compelled testimony, covert activity, cross-border data transfer or disclosure; determine privilege, blocking-statute, labour, sanctions, admissibility or criminal-liability questions; replace local counsel, competent authorities or diplomatic channels; or imply that one country’s process applies elsewhere. Every engagement must be validated against current domestic law, applicable treaties, court or regulator directions, contracts, professional duties, safety conditions and the specific status of each relevant state or territory.
